Our search methodology is based on the International classification of goods and services. Around the world some 142 countries have agreed on an international standard for the classification of all goods and services. It is accepted law that identical marks can co-exist when they offer goods that are sold through different channels of trade. In other words "they do not compete with each other". Look at the classes of goods associated with 6 of the 19 registered trademarks that contain the word "McDonald's". This list clearly demonstrates our search preference. Therefore, the first critical factor in comparing a proposed trademark with existing registrations is an examination of the classes of the goods associated with the registered mark.
